Hi Tim,
this workshop is pretty outdated and will confuse you more than it will help. I would suggest you to follow this tutorial:

Dear Rasdaman-Users,
first of all I have to admit that I am a bloody beginner in using Rasdaman. I just started to play around with Rasdaman to see if it fits to the needs the company I am working with currently has.
I run Rasdaman on VMWare Workstation (from http://rasdaman.org/wiki/DownloadVm <http://rasdaman.org/wiki/DownloadVm>) and wanted to go through the tutorial BigDataRasdamanWorkshop - however already the rasimport is not working correctly.
rasdaman@ubuntu:~$ rasimport -f ~/Schreibtisch/DATASETS/2D_multiband_image/N-32-50_ul_2000_s.tif —coll 'Multiband' —conn ~/.rasdaman/connectfile —coverage-name 'Multiband' -t RGBImage:RGBSet —crs-uri 'http://localhost:8080/def/crs/EPSG/0/32632 <http://localhost:8080/def/crs/EPSG/0/32632>'
RasdamanConnector::connect(): connection with 'petascopedb' failed!
RasdamanHelper2::getCoverageIdFromOID(): connection to 'petascopedb' failed!
rasimport::main(): Parsing error 300 in line 1, column 44: Unexpected name v1.
Even though I got an error message, it seems something could have been imported.
rasdaman@ubuntu:~$ rasql -q 'select c from RAS_COLLECTIONNAMES as c' —out string
rasql: rasdaman query tool v1.0, rasdaman v9.4.0-beta1.
opening database RASBASE at localhost:7001...ok Executing retrieval query…ok Query result collection has 7 element(s):
Result object 1: mr
Result object 2: mr2
Result object 3: AverageChloro
Result object 4: Multiband
Result object 5: AverageTemperature
Result object 6: rgb
Result object 7: mean_summer_airtemp
rasql done.
But without any value…
rasdaman@ubuntu:~$ rasql -q 'select c[2000,1000] from Multiband as c' —out string | grep Result
Result element 1: { 0, 0, 0 }
Any hint what I am doing wrong is much appreciated. Thanks for your help.
Regards,
TIM
