#22 | fixed | need more information on creating rasdaman user in inst-guide and external-guide
Description |
Both documents mention creating a rasdaman user but give no details of that user. Should the user be a regular user or a system user (i.e. a daemon)? Should the user have a specific home directory? Should the user have a specific password, and is that password required in the rasdaman configuration? An example of user creation would be useful. |

#23 | fixed | contradictory instructions in inst-gude and exeternal-guide
Description |
Section 2.3 of the inst-guide instructs: "The base DBMS has to be set up according to the instruction in the rasdaman External Products Integration Guide." Section 3.1 of the external-guide states: "First, perform all installation steps as described in the Installation and Administration Guide. Upon successful completion, continue below." Either the inst-guide has to be completed first and section 2.3 of the inst-guide should be moved to the end of section 2, or the database is configured at step 2.3 in the inst-guide and section 3.1 of the external-guide is incorrect and should be deleted. …gosh I'm picky |

#24 | fixed | make fails for clientcomm in Ubuntu 8.10
Description |
I have a freshly installed & updated server running Ubuntu 8.10 with all required rasdaman dependencies installed as noted by running the configure script. 'make' fails in clientcomm with the error: /usr/bin/rpcgen -l -o rpcif_clnt.cc.tmp rpcif.x mawk -f rpcif_clnt.c.awk rpcif_clnt.cc.tmp > rpcif_clnt.cc mawk: rpcif_clnt.c.awk: line 12: regular expression compile failed (missing '(') \) *!= *RPC_SUCCESS *) mawk: rpcif_clnt.c.awk: line 17: regular expression compile failed (missing '(') \) *!= *RPC_SUCCESS *) make: * [rpcif_clnt.cc] Error 2 repeating 'make' gives a different error, the error can not be replicated until 'make clean' and rpcif_clnt.cc.tmp is deleted. |
